Nine serving corp members of the NYSC in Ogun State got the order to repeat their service year while three others got their service year extended by three months
The NYSC State cordinator in Ogun state while speaking yesterday in Abeokuta where the passing out parade of the 2011 batch B took place alleged the affected corp members infringed on the NYSC rules and regulation during their service year
According to the state NYSC boss,the affected corp members were penalized for absconding, absenteeism and insubordination
She further said three other corp member whom she described as exceptional were given the state honor award for their exceptional contribution to their host communities
In her words of advise,the NYSC chief urged Corps Members to comport themselves wisely and lead a life deserving ambassadors of their various families, the NYSC Scheme and the Nation as they join the larger society.

Abiola Aimobi,daughter of Oyo state governor was rewarded for her excellent contribution in seven different development projects worth over 20 million naira
The seven projects which the Governor’s daughter carried out include the building of an equipped ICT centre at the state NYSC secretariat, renovation of a two storey classroom block at Eleyele school, Ibadan, construction of a six room VIP toilets at the same school and provision of water there as well.
The NYSC state coordinator, Pastor Olanipekun Alao, acknowledged the invaluable contributions of most of outgoing corps members to the development of the state
FIVE DIE IN DELTA
The Delta state NYSC boss reported yesterday that five corp members lost their life during the service year
In her speech at the passing out parade in Asaba, Delta state. The Delta State Coordinator of the scheme, Mrs. Vivian Omeruo, pointed out that the death of five corps members was unfortunate even as it was heroic as they died in active service.
She added that 25 corps members were pencilled down for various sanctions ranging from repeat of service to extension of service as punishment for various acts of indiscipline.
EKITI CORPERS PROTEST NON PAYMENT OF ALLOWANCES
National Youth Service Corps members serving in Ekiti State in Ado Ekiti on Thursday protested against the non-payment of their allowances by the state government.
This occurred as no fewer than 12 of the 1,990 corps members in Ondo State had their one-year service extended by another year, while 1,979 others completed theirs in Kwara State.
